VELUX VR experience
Vision.
VELUX owns the renovation space when it comes to roof window purchasing and installation, but has historically struggled to gain a foothold in the new-build market.
The vision was to inject a roof window discussion, naturally, into the new-build buying process between major professional home builders and end customers.
Communications.
The new-home sales process traditionally includes a visit to a single show-home, and then selecting options from a brochure. Our research showed us that buyer need to ‘feel’ more in order to lower the barrier to purchase. On the other hand, professional home builders struggle to differentiate, making the consultation the only memorable part of the customers pre-purchase journey.

Professional home builder: “I need to remain competitive beyond the consultation, and offer an experience that stands out from my competitors.”

Taking this mindset into our creative process, we found a solution allowing VELUX to facilitate the needs of both the Home Builders, and the end customer by arming Professional Home Builders with a powerful Virtual Reality experience, accurately depicting their most popular ‘package’ properties - with and without roof windows.
This was a hit with the Home Builders, as it not only helped them stand out from other housing developers, but it also allowed them to showcase their premium properties and inspire up-sales.
