Since 2012 OrganiCup has been on a mission; to end the stigma around periods everywhere, and normalizing the communication around one of the most necessary and normal biological functions of the female body. But the issues surrounding the period is not only that we don’t like talking about it. For many years, there have been, and still are, serious concerns about the negative impact that menstrual products have on the environment, and the lack of education about the subject leading to misconceptions, insecurities, shame and mental health issues. To say the least, there’s a lot of room for improvement on this matter.
But how do we actually change the perception of something that’s been stigmatized for centuries? How do we encourage women to talk more openly about their dirty little secret, that’s not dirty at all?
